25th September 2013
To begin the season we welcome Valerie Fillingham, a keen traveller, who will take us on part of a World Voyage on the Queen Victoria, visiting Muscat, Dubai, Petra, Sharm el Sheikh & the Pyramids. “Oman to Egypt via Petra.”
9th October 2013
Colin Douglas gives us a travel feast with ”Poland and Macedonia” He goes on and off the beaten track with cities & mountains in Poland and visiting ancient Macedonia with its monasteries, including Lake Ochrid &Thessalonika.
23rd October 2013
Pax Garabedian journeys “The Silk Road to Samarkand”. The talk covers a visit to Kyrgizstan and Uzbekistan visiting some of the Silk Road cities; a presentation with a music sound track and commentary.

Les & Pauline Mason visited relatives in Edmonton in Canada and took the opportunity to explore Alberta “Where the Prairies Meet the Rockies” visiting locations the Canadians themselves like to explore.

Howard Phillips talk this year is “The Grand Titon and Yellowstone National Parks”; there will be wildlife, scenery and Geography from these areas.

Mo Holland returns to continue the story she started on the Black Sea with “Istanbul-
Update: Mo Holland, who works for Voyages of Discovery, has to go to sea earlier than planned and will not be back in time to give her talk. Peter Logan has stepped in to replace Mo. He will talk about the Eastern med., including Istanbul and Gallipoli, which has its 100th anniversary this year.

Alan & Pat Porrett “Journey to Namaqualand” on two occasions and show us a South Africa quite different from the game park image and bring us the remote wilderness of Namaqualand, including the incredible winter wild flower display.
